Derby Releases Energy Plan

Democratic congressional candidate Jill Derby released a detailed energy plan Wednesday, with recommendations for reducing fuel demand, expanding renewable energy sources and expanded drilling in areas with "low environmental risk."
Derby said the nation must commit to a "Apollo-Project style investment" in renewable energy technology, specifically mentioning solar and geothermal energy as viable options.

Jill Derby, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Dean Heller (R-Carson City) in the 2nd Congressional District, has been added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's "Red to Blue" fundraising program.
Oil Prices Gain After Defeat of U.S. Reserve Bill
Oil prices reversed course and moved higher Thursday in U.S. trading after a move in Congress to tap into the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve was defeated.
The House of Representatives defeated a Democrat bill to release about 70 million barrels of oil from the national oil stockpile. The release would have amounted to approximately a three-day supply.
The affirmative vote of 268-157 was along party lines and was not enough for the supermajority needed for approval.

And predictably, members of the famous revolution class that ended a 40-year Democratic reign in the House are especially peeved.
